Quality and Technical Manager

Apex is currently seeking an accomplished technical leader to help our customers to grow and save money by developing a Quality and Product Development department within the Apex organization that creates competitive advantage to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years and less than 15 years of progressive experience in an executive quality position in an effective lean environment at a manufacturing company. To be effective, this position requires Customer Focus, Constant improvement and Results Orientation as core character traits. This position requires manufacturing aptitude and experience and ability. It has a high demand for manufacturing short to mid run product cycles in a highly effective and profitable manner. Requires an understanding and direct experience with lean methodology, kaizen, and kaban, IQ, OQ, PQ, Six Sigma, GMP, HACCP, OTC, and Micro.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide strong quality assurance systems and processes that are lean and lead to a measurable competitive advantage in quality.
Create a "Quality Mindset" that proactively builds quality into every process
Develop and maintain robust processes that ensure that all products meet or exceed our customer's specifications.
Work with Purchasing and Production to ensure that materials and manufacturing processes are engineered in a way to consistently deliver finished products that meet customer specifications.
Develop a Facility Audit program that maintains Plant readiness when followed.
Develop a customer satisfaction feedback process that allows Apex to be intimate with our customers.
Ensure clarity in communicating quality standards with both internal and external customers.
Provide world-class quality control that builds trust and protects the Brand Equity of our customers.
Ensure raw materials and bulk product manufactured at Apex International meet GMP, FDA, EU and all other required government regulatory analytical requirements.
Ensure the microbial safety of Apex International Products
Ensure finished products meet customer specifications at Apex International
Ensure formulas meet their specifications of the stability protocol
Ensure that only finished products that meet specifications are shipped to customers
Ensure clarity in communicating quality issues and work progress issues with both internal and external customers.
Develop and maintain an organization of high performing people who are aligned with Apex Vision, Purpose, and Values

Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.
Apply and utilize "lean tools" to permanently implement improvements.
Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
Qualification and Skill Requirements:
Prior Experience:
This position requires more than 10 years and less than 15 years of progressive experience into an executive quality position in an effective Lean environment in the food or fluids filling or manufacturing.

Knowledge Requirements:

This position requires manufacturing aptitude and experience and ability. It has a high demand for manufacturing short to mid run product cycles in a highly effective and profitable manner. Requires an understanding and direct experience with lean methodology, kaizen, and kaban, IQ, OQ, PQ, Six Sigma, GMP, HACCP, OTC, and Micro.
Licenses and Certifications: None

Certifications or required class attendance: Prefer 1-2 years Vo-Tech or equivalent in an associated field (mechanics, auto repair, machine repair, etc.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
