This position has the responsibility of processing all gifts received from the Arboretum donor base, management of the donor data in Raisers Edge, and overseeing and participating in the arrangement of events for the Development Department of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
This position is represented by AFSCME Clerical Bargaining Unit. Dues or Fair Share deductions will be made. Responsibilities: (60%) Gift Processing & Data Management:
Open mail daily & prepare work for data input by accounting personnel
Copy checks & correspondence for file & for appropriate staff
Verify gift processing to insure accuracy
Enter gifts into Raisers Edge during peak times
Handle stock gifts received via brokerage firm
Initiate pledge forms and necessary back-up materials
Monitor telemarketing pledges and send out pledge reminders
Make appropriate phone calls to donors for information or clarification
Oversee acknowledgement process for all gifts including producing routine acknowledgements
Create or modify acknowledgements as necessary
Build queries & export data as needed both for Annual Giving & for other staff members
Maintain current telephone numbers & addresses
Merge records as needed
Handle deceased records
Process matching gifts weekly in paper format, online and UMF
Track, print & personalize donor renewal notices (25%) Annual Fund & Memorial Support:
Set up new memorials in Raisers Edge
Handle memorial/honor family notification
Initiate paperwork for named memorials/honors
Track and update tribute tab for memorials/honors in Raisers Edge
Assist in Annual Fund mailings, including modifying solicitation letters
Handle routine phone calls and send out appropriate materials
Maintain Annual Fund spreadsheets
Maintain proper inventory of supplies
Assist in Annual Fund & Memorial donor events both in preparation & attendance (15%) Tracking & Reporting:
Produce accurate reports for Development & Advisory Committee
Set-up, modify and produce all internal fundraising reports
Track on Trustee & major donor Annual Fund giving report as needed

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
