Summary:
This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment in a safe efficient manner.
JOB
Responsibilities:
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Adhere to all safety polices and procedures.
Follow all Personal and Food Safety precautions:
Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, GMPs, follow Plant Color Code for Buckets, Brushes, etc.
Prepare and mix industrial chemicals according to SSOP directions & test for accuracy using titration method.
Be able to administer chemicals in a safe and efficient manner.
Be able to operate CIP and COP cleaning equipment.
Dismantle & clean packaging, processing lines & equipment according to SSOP & master sanitation schedule.
Certified with EcolabAbility to check in industrial chemicals, using computer programReassemble and test run equipment after cleaning in preparation for the next shift's productionPerform sanitation inspection on processing lines/equipment.
Communicate with Production, QA, and Sanitation Supervisors regarding sanitation issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
No prior experience or training.
Experience:
Good communication skills.
Be able to measure chemical concentrations using a titration method.
Be able to distinguish between different colors.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
In order to promote a manufacturing environment that is safe and efficient for both personnel and food, the ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written) is required.
This includes the ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings for self and others in both normal and emergency situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
